In this workshop we will be working with local trees, wild and cultivated flowers to create playful, unique designs using various bundle dyeing techniques. Bundle dyeing is a versatile, easy to learn technique that uses heat to transfer colors and shapes onto fabric from flowers and leaves. Learn how to select flowers and leaves, make your own iron bath, prepare fibers and plants using non-toxic mordants and modifiers to make gorgeous, long lasting patterns. This is a great way to upcycle your wardrobe and bring old garments back to life!
Dying materials and scarf are included, but feel free bring a small item of your choosing to work with if you prefer. This workshop is held in a private garden in Washingtonville, NY and is limited to 8 participants.
